WEST PALM BEACH, FL (WFLX) - H1N1 vaccines are pouring into our area by the hundreds as area health departments and local providers prepare to distribute them.
The 900 doses arrived Tuesday for pregnant women in Palm Beach County. Expectant mothers have to be vaccinated with a shot and not the mist. The shot form that arrived Tuesday is Mercury-free and comes in single-dose vials.
Martin County got thousands of flu mist vaccines last week, and Tuesday received its shipments of injectable doses. More are coming every week. People can start getting them at the end of the month.
The same goes for St. Lucie County.
The health department says it has 3,400 doses of the H1N1 flu mist and 2,500 doses of the injectable.
Okeechobee County has received a small amount of vaccine and isn't sure when they'll be given out.
