MANALAPAN, FL (WFLX) - An unusual scene at one of our area's most luxurious hotels: a double stabbing near the Ritz-Carlton.
It happened just after 9 p.m. Monday night outside the Manalapan resort. Two people who were involved in a protest outside the Ritz were stabbed.
One person found in front of the hotel had injuries so severe that he was flown to Delray Medical Center via Trauma Hawk. Another person across the street only had minor stab wounds.
The people outside the Ritz were protesting David Irving, an author known for his involvement in the Holocaust denial movement.
Irving was speaking inside the hotel to a group, but was not injured according to Palm Beach County Fire-Rescue.
A hotel spokeswoman said no guests of the hotel were injured.
Late Monday night, Manalapan Police declined to say who is behind the stabbing and whether or not a suspect has been caught.
