Tiger's & Elin's pro-golf matchmaker goes off

WEST PALM BEACH, FL (WFLX) - Pro-golfer and Tequesta resident Jesper Parnevik feels he owes an apology to Elin Nordegren for the disastrous outcome of her marriage to Tiger Woods.

"Me and my wife are at fault for hooking them up with her. We probably thought he was a better guy than he is," said Parnevik.

Nordegren was a nanny for the Swedish golfer before he introduced the couple eight years ago.

On the final stage of PGA Tour qualifying at Bear Lakes Country Club in West Palm Beach, he blasted his friend. "I hope she uses a driver, instead of the 3-iron next time I would say."

His reaction just hours after US Weekly magazine published a cover story alleging that a Los Angeles cocktail waitress had a 31-month affair with Woods.

She claims she's has 300 text messages and a voicemail as proof.

Here's a transcript: "Hey, it's, uh, it's Tiger. I need you to do me a huge favor. Um, can you please, uh, take your name off your phone. My wife went through my phone. And, uh, may be calling you. If you can, please take your name off that and, um, and what do you call it just have it as a number on the voicemail, just have it as your telephone number. That's it, OK. You gotta do this for me. Huge. Quickly. All right. Bye.''

Woods reacted on his Web site with the following statement: "I have let my family down, and I regret those transgressions with all of my heart. I have not been true to my values and the behavior my family deserves. I am not without faults and I am far short of perfect."

Parnevik agreed, "When you are the world's best athlete you should think a little more before you do stuff. Maybe not 'just do it', like Nike says."
