Temperatures in Belle Glade are expected to drop to 38 degrees tonight, and with the wind chills the night will feel particularly icy. Palm Beach County has activated the cold weather emegency shelter plan for the area and Red Cross volunteers will be on stand by at the West County Senior Center to open the shelter in case anyone in need of a warm place to sleep shows up. The shelter is locate at 2916 State Road 15.

Anyone who needs transportation assistance to the shelter can call "211" or 866-882-2991. To date the Red Cross has sheltered 1,053 Palm Beach County residents from cold and harsh conditions.
