
Eric Roby is an anchor for the Fox29 Ten O'Clock News. He joined the NEWS 12 team in December 2001 as weekend co-anchor. Eric came from Davenport, Iowa, where he was weekend anchor at WQAD, an ABC affiliate, for two and a half years.
Eric was also an anchor/reporter in Salisbury, Maryland, at WBOC, a CBS affiliate. He grew up on the eastern shore of Maryland, where most of his family still lives. Eric is a graduate of American University in Washington, DC. He majored in communications and minored in political science and literature.
While attending classes Eric worked at the campus TV station, starting as a producer. He was also a producer on Capitol Hill for Washington News Network, a news cooperative service. He was eventually hired as general manager of a closed circuit TV station that airs live and taped entertainment productions as well as newscasts.
While in school Eric spent a semester overseas working as a production assistant for NBC in London. Outside of work, Eric can often be found preparing for his next marathon or triathlon.
