LAKE WORTH, FL (WFLX) - The Adopt-a-Cat Foundation, located in Lake Worth, is on the brink of closing due to the slumping economy.

For 25 years now, Inga Hanley has found ophaned cats a loving home through her no-kill, Adopt-a-Cat Foundation. "They all very affectionate and loving. They're just looking for someone to pet them and cuddle them."

Over the weekend, they held an 'adoptathon' trying to find homes for nearly 150 felines. Adopt-a-Cat was about to find home for more than half of their cats; however, 70 more still need homes.

Hanley tells us, they raised enough cash this weekend to keep Adopt-a-Cat open for at least another month. But they still need more money. You can help by visiting
