LAKE WORTH, FL (WFLX) - A startling 911 tape has just been released: An intruder confronts a Lake Worth woman in her bedroom and tried to cover her face with a blanket. But, luckily for her, her adult son and the family dog came to the rescue.

Carole Domingo was attacked March 9 in her Lake Worth home on South D Street. The family pet, Dusty, bit the intruder. Carole's son heard the commotion and rushed downstairs from his bedroom to help.

He wrestled the intruder to the floor and stabbed him with a Philips screwdriver while Carole called 911.

"911 emergency," the dispatcher said.  "A black guy just broke into my house! My son's got him. Okay, stay on the phone with me, okay?"

Domingo: "Pardon?"

Dispatcher: "Stay on the phone with me. We're sending help, okay?"

Domingo: "Yes. He's got a knife! He's got a knife!"

Dispatcher: "Stay away from him, okay?"

Domingo: "Okay. My son's got him! Hurry, please hurry!"

Domingo's son, Jim Mampe, pinned the intruder down on the bedroom floor until deputies got there. Mampe says since the attack, he now keeps a gun in the house and wishes he had one that night.

Carlyle Blackburn, 39, remains behind bars in the attack.
