WEST PALM BEACH, FL (WFLX) - Listening to crime victims speak at a killer's sentencing hearing, you often hear heartbreak and anger. But on Wednesday, one speech by a family member left the judge speechless and the courtroom stunned.

"First of all, Wes, I'd like to show you what my son looks like when he's not sleeping and covered in blood." And that started off a six-minute long tirade by John Tackaberry. "The mere fact that you were in my mother's house, and put your nasty &^$#$ hands on my kid, makes me want to kill you."

Wes McGee is being sentenced for helping kill Jane Tackaberry and nearly killing her 6-year-old grandson, Elijah. A crime planned by a former girlfriend, Rhonda Norman, to get back at Elijah's dad, John. "I really wish I was home that night because the only people who would have died would have been you and Rhonda."

McGee's attorney argued against the death penalty saying he had a rough childhood born in jail to a drug-addicted mother and abused.

But Tackaberry wasn't buying his excuse. "You want to talk about post traumatic stress disorder? Let's talk about Elijah who's traumatized for the rest of the his life with the 8-inch scar that stretches from ear to ear, the six 7-inch scares on his arm."

In the end, the jury recommended life in prison for McGee and the judge agreed giving him three consecutive life sentences to make sure he never can get out and never devastate a family like he did the Tackaberry's.

"I am John Tackaberry, the son of Jane Tackaberry, the father of Elijah Tackaberry, and on behalf of my family, you rot in hell, you bleep!"

We did talk with John after he left court. He told us it felt good to tell off McGee. As for his ex-girlfriend, Rhonda Norman, no date has been set for her sentencing. But the jury recommended she get the death penalty.
