Child seat saves lone survivor in head-on crash

FT PIERCE, FL (WFLX) -  Okeechobee Road in Fort Pierce is shut down following a fatal accident.

According to authorities, two cars crashed in a head-on collision at the Okeechobee - St. Lucie County line on SR 70

Herbert Lee Harris of Fort Pierce and Alexander White of Okeechobee have been pronounced dead. The identity of the third individual has not been released due to the fact the next of kin has not been notified yet.

One person was flown by air rescue to St. Mary's Medical Center. Another was airlifted to Holmes Regional Medical Center in Melbourne.

One person was killed on contact. The lone survivor is a 4-year-old child. According to investigators, it was the child seat that saved his life.
