Today marks the first time the West Palm Beach City Commission has met in the new city commission chambers at the new city hall.

The City Center complex was just finished late last month.

And it replaces the old city hall, which was built in the 1970's.  The new city commission chambers are larger and can accommodate a bigger audience and there's even an overflow room in case there's a standing room only crowd.   One commissioner says its an honor to be here for the first commission meeting.

"Are you kidding me? It's thrilling. So of course I'm very happy.  It's a good thing for the city and it's an exciting opportunity for all of us," said Molly Douglas, President of the West Palm Beach City Commission.

The City Center complex at Clematis and Dixie downtown consists of city hall, a new library and a parking garage.

Price tag: $104 million.

The library is set to open one week from today, April 13.
