Local girls return from White House egg roll

PALM BEACH GARDENS, FL (WFLX)-It's an annual event, but only a few get to go. Triplets Victoria, Elizabeth and Sarah Wilson are back at their home in Palm Beach Gardens, after attending the White House Easter Egg Roll this past Monday.

The event on the South Lawn of the White House featured Easter eggs and appearances by the first

family. Disney, PBS, and Nickelodeon characters were on hand and there were performances by recording artists including Fergie.

"I liked that there was some music there," said Victoria. "And there was singing."

"There was a lot of kids, one thousand kids," remarked Elizabeth.

"A thousand mothers and dads too," added Sarah.

"I don't think they got the historical significance," said Patricia Wilson, the girls mother. "But they got that this was the biggest lawn they ever had an Easter egg hunt on."

Mrs. Wilson says she felt proud being at the event. "There was no Democrats, Republicans, black, white, nothing. Everyone was just happy to be Americans."

Each of the Wilson girls went home with a gift, a wooden egg signed by President and Mrs. Obama. Mrs. Wilson says she used to work on Capitol Hill.
