Cross country mission: 50 jobs, 50 states, 50 weeks

(WFLX) - It's hard enough finding one job in this recession, but here's a man hoping to find 50 of them.

Twenty-seven-year-old Daniel Seddiqui is on a cross country mission to land 50 different jobs in 50 states in 50 weeks. His latest gig is working at a recording studio in Tennessee.

Seddiqui will freely admit he's not much of a singer, but after a spending a week in Tennessee, he figures it's worth a shot. "You know, I've gone 20,000 miles and covered 30 states."

This week he's working at the Sound Kitchen Recording Studio in Cool Springs. "Everyday, I wake up, it's a learning experience 'cause I'm in with new people, new industry."

His travels have taken him all over the country. He was a border patrol agent in Arizona, a logger in Oregon, and a pit crew member in Indiana. "My head is full of information I may never use again, but it's always going to help me in the long run."

Daniel, who is originally from California, says he began his occupational odyssey after he interviewed for 40 jobs and was rejected each time. Now, he's trying something new, and chronicling his progress one job at a time. "I'm just a really persistent person. When I come up with an idea, I go for it."

So whether it's making cheese in Wisconsin, announcing a rodeo in South Dakota, or tending bar on Bourbon Street, Daniel is now finding plenty of work. "Just because the economy is bad doesn't mean you can't follow your dreams or find your dream job."

While a career behind the microphone might be unlikely, Daniel says it's just another experience he can add to his growing resume. If only he could decide what he really wants to do. "I've had 30 jobs so far, and I have 20 more to chose from. At the end, who knows what I'll be doing."
