Travel Agent Sees Effects of Lifted Restrictions to Cuba

It's been one week since President Obama lifted travel restrictions for Cuban-Americans to Cuba.  And one travel agent says she's seeing the effects of the change already.  At Eileen's Travel on Clematis Street in West Palm Beach, they're now getting calls from people who don't have relatives in Cuba, but would still like to go for a vacation when they get the chance.
Travel agents are telling them to be patient.
The owner of Eileen's Travel says it's her guess that Cuba will be opened up as a destination to everyone in about two years.
"The previous White House had made it very difficult for the Cuban-Americans to go. So now  that's been resolved, and I think if things continue on the way it is, that Americans will be able to go as well," said Mary Hurley-Lane, owner of Eileen's Travel.
Hurley-Lane says right now, most Cuban-Americans from our area who want to fly to Cuba use a charter company in Miami and just call them direct.    She told us due to the U.S. trade embargo with Cuba, her agency cannot sell airline tickets to Cuba.
