Realtors turning to Twitter to draw buyers

Posted by Rachel Leigh email

(WFLX) - In this tough real estate market many people are trying to find a unique way to sell their homes. Now, some realtors are turning to Web sites, like Twitter, in a convergence of a bad market and new technology.

Social networking sites are clicking their ways into the arsenals of real estate agents. They're able to use the sites as free advertising and are drawing buyers away from traditional newspaper listings and real estate guides. "I'd say half my business comes from Facebook, Twitter and my Web site," said relator Rob McQuade.

Another agent added, "This just augments relationships and helps solidify potential relationships."

One of the main reasons agents are turning to online sites, they say, the information is more accurate, and they can help keep up with what clients are seeing online, as well.
