DELRAY BEACH, FL (WFLX) - It's the 47th annual Delray Affair, the most popular arts and crafts street festival in Palm Beach County.

The fest is set in the location where many artists find inspiration for their work. "I was invited to be the poster artist of this 2009 commemorative poster for the Delray Art Affair," said Eileen Seitz. "And the theme was to do something that was of Delray - the beach, the street or some sort of architectural wonder."

Eileen patiently drove up and down the streets of Delray waiting for the iconic place to set her easel and begin her work. "As I saw it, I was totally moved by the architecture because it reminded me of so many neighborhoods that I had treasured and experienced in my traveling."

After spending two days painting, a message from a higher power came helping her complete her work. "The spirit moved me to put in a bicycle. And Nancy [Stewart] called me saying I'd won, and that's how the painting came together."

Another form of artwork very popular is vocal.

Adam Fine and Carl Schmidt are part of the Delray Affair's nonstop entertainment, and this duo is working to enhance local, live music year-round. "Center for the Arts where going to start a once a month concert series down there for local emerging artists at the [Mizner] Amphitheatre, and we'll have a good time and get some local music out in the community," Carl explained.

And, of course, there's an array of venders, like Marcello Sobrinho of Celsius. "We're presenting Celsius, the healthy beverage that burns calories. It's an excellent replacement for sodas, energy drinks, sugar loaded juices and coffees. And what is does is slowly raise your metabolism, and you burn 100 calories on average just by drinking."

Delray is the home of Celsius. "We find that people who come to Delray are looking for a healthier lifestyle. They love the city; they love the downtown area."

I'm sure Nancy Stewart's devotion to the city has something to do with their love affair with Delray.
