BOYNTON BEACH, FL (WFLX) - A strange story out of Boynton Beach where a 17-year-old girl accidentally rear-ends the car in front of her and was subsequently sexually assaulted.

The man whose car was rear-ended by the teen driver in Boynton Beach asked her for money and then sexually assaulted her police said.

The Boynton Beach girl hit the suspect's older model grey van about 1:15 p.m. Monday as she headed south on South Congress Avenue approaching Southwest 30th Avenue.

She pulled over to talk to the man, afraid she would get in trouble with her parents, and that's when the man asked her for money to pay for the damage.

When he followed her to an ATM to get cash, he asked her for a kiss. She pulled away, but he trapped her against his van and inappropriately touched her. When the victim screamed, the man fled in his van. He then struck a fence in the parking lot.

According to Boynton Beach Police, the man is said to be in his mid 30's, 5'8" to 5'10," medium-build, clean shaven and with black slicked-back hair.

The van likely has damage to its rear fender and scratches to the left rear wheel well and to the right rear quarter panel area.

Anyone with information on the suspect is asked to contact Det. Juan Montoya at 561-742-6163, Sgt. Paul Sheridan at 561-742-6133 or Crime Stoppers at 800-458-8477.
