Creating a home theater system when money is no object

AP -- Believe it or not, some people lay out one (m) million dollars or more for a home theater system.

Publisher Mark Mendelsohn of the new magazine Robb Report Home Entertainment and Design says that includes the cost of an architect, an interior designer, and a custom installer for all that gear.

And Mendelsohn says some people want more than just one or two amplifiers. One system highlighted in his magazine has 40.

As for screen size, 100 inches is typical for an upscale system. But Mendelsohn says you can get a custom screen as big as you want.

Screens that size use video projectors running from three-thousand to 50-thousand dollars.

Mendelsohn says with a fat wallet, you can have a home theater rivaling -- even surpassing -- any cineplex.
