Prosecutors score a victory in court against one of the defendants in the Dunbar rape case.

Late this afternoon a judge ruled prosecutors can use a confession that Avion Lawson gave West Palm Beach Police during questioning by detectives.

The defense this afternoon asked that Lawson's statement to police should be thrown out, because the defense argued he had invoked his right to remain silent.

Lawson, 16,  and three other youths are accused in a gang rape of a woman and her son in their Dunbar Village apartment in June 2007.

All four are set to go to trial August 18.
