WELLINGTON, FL (WFLX) - The doctor treating the pregnant woman with the H1N1 virus talks exclusively to FOX 29.

Aubrey Opdyke's ob-gyn says her condition went downhill rapidly. Dr. Michelle Beck says Aubrey first came to her with cold symptoms which they treated. But, within two days, she was in acute respiratory failure at Wellington Regional Medical Center.

Aubrey is still on a ventilator, but is doing much better than when she was first hospitalized last week.

Her lung did collapse partially Thursday, but that is a known complication and was expected.

Dr. Beck says the dilemma now is when and if to deliver the baby girl. Since Aubrey is stable, she would be able to handle surgery, but they want to keep the baby in the womb as long as possible.

Aubrey is about 27 weeks along.
