Fashion tips from Rascal Flatts' stylist

WEST PALM BEACH, FL (WFLX) - The boys of Rascal Flatts each have their own look; however, there's one thing they all have in common. "Most of the items on the road this season are the American Living collection," said wardrobe stylist John Murphy.

Murphy incorporates the new, affordable line by JCPenney to get the boys concert-ready while on their American Living Unstoppable tour. "We've done some cool things and embellished some shirts. We've added some patches to a few of the jeans."

The line includes everything from swim trunks to suits, so each boy is covered. "Gary [LeVox] tends to look a little more Western. Joe Don [Rooney] does more of the real tight jeans, and Jay [DeMarcus] does skinny tie, button up shirt, jacket."

Making your wardrobe looks expensive is easy. "You can buy a $24 pair of jeans, and you can have them altered to fit like a designer jean that's $150, $250. It's not just celebrities and people on Wall Street that need tailors."

Some other fashion tips from Murphy; even though, we live in South Florida, don't wear flip flops everyday, matching a tank top with a lightweight scarf is a great way to copy L.A. without breaking a sweat, and fill your closet with the color of royalty for the fall.

"There is a lot of purple, even for men," said Murphy. "I walked through all the department stores, and shopped on 5th Avenue, and the amount of purple clothing for men and women was the thing that I noticed the most."

Rascal Flatts are in concert Friday, July 24 at the Cruzan Amphitheatre in West Palm Beach; however, they won't take the stage until John Murphy has them looking fabulous in the American Living collection by JCPenney.
