JACKSONVILLE, FL (WFLX) - Two men are safe and sound after being lost at sea for nearly 48 hours.

Tuesday afternoon, a Hess Oil Tanker rescued Vinny Faulkner and his brother-in-law, Eric Ross, 70 miles off the coast of Jacksonville. The tanker had left the Bahamas en route to Jacksonville.

Faulkner and Ross had took off from Ft. Pierce Sunday night on a fishing trip. When they didn't come home, one of their wives called the Coast Guard. Meanwhile, the strong current of the Gulf Stream carried them almost 200 miles north.

Friends say the men, dehydrated and sun burnt, were found inside their 14 foot boat which was out of fuel. They did not have any food or water.

The men received medical attention and have spoken with their families.
