AP -- When it comes to television -- the old cathode ray tube technology goes out the window with something called digital light processing.
D-L-P uses a different technology to create the T-V picture.
It's ideal for big screen TV's.
Here's why: it gives the viewer incredible contrast and brightness -- as well as sharper color. It's only 18 inches thick and can be viewed from virtually any angle in a room.
Suzanne Kantra with Popular Science goes so far as to say -- it probably offers one of the best pictures around.
Oh, it also delivers high definition television.
Samsung is currently the only manufacturer using D-L-P technology in its T-V sets. But others have similar T-V's in the works.
Samsung's 43-inch screen retails for about four-thousand bucks.
