Las Vegas-AP -- High-definition television users will soon be able to record digital video, with a new device from TiVo.
The company -- along with Hughes Electronics DirecTV -- is coming out with such a recorder. It will work within both the standard and high definition formats.
TiVo says the device will be out by the end of the year.
The company says it also plans to introduce a "home media option" on its digital recording device. It will allow users to access videos, music and photos throughout the home.
In other words, you'll be able to record entertainment in the living room, but watch it in the bedroom. Or you could store tunes on your P-C -- and listen to them in the family room.
The home media option will be available in the spring for a one-time fee.
