New details on the three  Palm Beach County Sheriff's deputies who were disciplined for roughing up suspects in the Belle Glade area.   Two of the deputies were fired, and a third one, Sgt. Brent Raban,  was demoted.

Records show Sgt. Raban has been the focus of nine  internal affairs investigations since he joined the sheriff's office in August 1998.

Raban was investigated for a variety of things such as discriminating against a deputy he supervised, punching kicking and choking an inmate, harassing citizens, disregarding a supervisor's directive, fraternizing with dispatchers while on duty, being discourteous to a motorist during a traffic stop,  and using excessive force and profanity while making an arrest.

The bottom line to all this? In those nine cases, Raban got a written reprimand twice and in this most recent case he was demoted from sergeant to deputy.

Even with the demotion last week to the rank of deputy,  Raban will still make just over $70,000 a year.

We asked for an interview with Raban.  A sheriff's spokeswoman said she would try to contact him.  Raban did not respond to our request.
