WEST PALM BEACH, FL (WFLX) - The Palm Beach County Sheriffs office is looking for a pair of suspects who not only broke into a home to steal from a woman, but also stole from her children.
"I thought I was going to die. I thought of the Florida Turnpike murders, where the mom and kids were killed. I thought they are just going to kill me," said Monica Grayson.
The 23-year-old woman had just gotten home with her two sons and daughter ages 2, 3 and 5 late Monday night. Her husband was not at the house located at 5042 El Claro Road west of West Palm Beach.
All of a sudden, two men broke into the house. One of them pointed a black handgun at her head.
They ripped gold jewelry off her, took her mother's diamond wedding ring and a purse. But, she says, the worst part was when they ripped a gold necklace from her 3-year-old son, Manny.
"My son was fighting back telling him no, don't touch. My 5-year-old daughter was also screaming. They were shaken up," she said.
Grayson says as soon as the men went upstairs, she ran out of the house with all her children to a neighbor's home and called the sheriff's office.
The thugs got spooked and left before cops arrived.
The first suspect is described as 5'8" tall, thin build, with his face covered by a bandana.
The other is heavy set, 5'8" tall, with a goatee, wearing a red shirt and khaki pants.
The victim says there have been similar robberies in that same area which is near Haverhill Road and Southern Boulevard.
