WEST PALM BEACH, FL (WFLX) - Getting a table at a restaurant during the month of September is pretty easy right about now. It's the slowest month of the year for restaurant owners.

That's why Leila Middle Eastern Grille in West Palm Beach has joined more than two dozen other restaurants in Flavor Palm Beach, a fine dining discount program which gives you savings of 30 percent or more off your bill during the month of September.

Leila's chef and part owner Alex Awad is preparing one of his hits at the Middle Eastern grille. His combination Kebab dinner complete with beef tips and chicken on skewers, plus grilled vegetables.

The dish is one of three entrées offered in a special discounted menu which also includes a choice of appetizer and desert.

"That's what were trying to avoid [slow periods], trying to put life in the restaurant. Hopefully, it's going to work," he said.

This is the first time Awad is joining Flavor Palm Beach which offers the three courses for $19.09 during lunch and $30 during dinner.

Normally, Awad says his Kebab dinner would run you about $15 more.

At Pistache French Bistro, the chef fries one of his signature dishes, snapper provencale. The succulent fish plate would usually cost $23.50

This is the second year owner Thierry Beaud has joined.

"I think, this year, there is more buzz, more advertising. Now, we will be able to compare and see how it works for us," he said.
