COLUMBUS, OH (WFLX) - It's not everyday a robbery suspect is accused of asking a victim for a date.
The story started when, officers say, Stephon Bennett and two other men robbed a couple in Columbus, Ohio.
Less than two hours after the robbery, he came back to the house. Officers say he wanted to ask one of the victims on a date! "Ask her if she had a boyfriend or not. Never, it's never happened. I've been here eight years and a couple of months and, this, I've just never had anything like this before," said Shaun Laird, Columbus Police Department.
Martinez told a TV station she recognized Bennett and was surprised by his request.
Officers arrested Bennett in front of the victim's home.
