JUPITER, FL (WFLX) - Baby yoga is exercise for babies that promises to help little ones sleep better. There's a new baby yoga class in our area -- a new idea and a first of its kind for Palm Beach County.

Itsy Bitsy Yoga is a class created for both moms and babies to work on strength, flexibility and coordination. Mom gets a workout, too. I brought my 7-month-old baby, Brielle, and she got a kick out of it, literally. She was upside down and downside up with her yoga positions. She was having a ball!

Instructor Kayla Willson says yoga helps babies sleep, "When we're calm, our babies can sense the calm. Mothers say their babies do double time naps after class."

Mother Stephanie Smith says, "She loves other babies and the interaction. She loves the poses, the songs. They are things we can do together and with other babies."

Babies learn to recognize the songs from class and the movements that come with them. Many of the movements are good for digestion and help with fussy bellies.

It's also great for bonding and moms say it gives them a chance to meet other moms. Kayla Willson says she's watched babies grow fond of each other and proud of their progress. She says when they get a move right, they know it!

Itsy Bitsy Yoga has classes in Juno Beach and Jupiter, but it's looking to expand.
