LAKE WORTH, FL (WFLX) - A local charity is asking for more help after exposing a new need in our community. Many families can't afford to buy a new computer for their children because of the bad economy.

The Lord's Place Thrift Store has sold more than a 150 donated computers in just a few weeks. Most of the computers sell for around a $100. There is now a list of more than a 100 families waiting for more donations.

As a result, The Lord's Place is asking you to turn in your old computer. Not only is it a tax write off, but your donation will help raise money for homeless programs in the area.

All of the hard drives from the donated computers are wiped clean by a professional to protect your personal information. The Lord's Place is also accepting computers that don't work.

The Lord's Place will pick up your donation by calling 561-494-0125 or you can drop it off at their thrift store located at 7600 S. Dixie Highway in Lake Worth.
