RIVIERA BEACH, FL (WFLX) - A local charity loses thousands of dollars in air conditioning equipment at the hands of thieves. Four out of nine air conditioning units from the ARC of Palm Beach County's Riviera Beach location were destroyed.

But things completely turned around Thursday thanks to the goodwill and generosity of our neighbors.

The ARC says they have been swamped with calls from businesses and individuals who want to help. The charity adds they have received more than 15 calls alone from air conditioning contractors.

Twenty thousand dollars worth of air conditioning equipment has been donated to the organization. That will replace all the damaged units. They have also received cash donations to go towards a new security system and their school.

The ARC has been given portable air conditioning units to keep their facility cool until the new units are installed.
