LAKE WORTH, FL (WFLX) - A bizarre sight at the Lake Worth jetty: A boat is left high and dry after an early morning crash.

Two people were hurt, but this could only be the start of their troubles.

The boat should have never been in the water to begin with. "It was in dry storage when we left last [Monday] night at 6:30, and it was supposed to be in dry storage until this [Tuesday] morning," said Chris Andrews who owns Freedom Boat Club.

His company owns the boat that was found stuck on the jetty early Tuesday morning. He says a marina employee stole it for an overnight joyride. "He wasn't authorized to be here at the marina after hours. He took it upon himself to take the crane and put it in the water."

At 5 a.m. Tuesday, Palm Beach Police found 40-year-old Lance Bradford, of Riviera Beach, roaming a backyard. A woman was plucked out of the water by another boater. The two apparently were thrown from the boat when it hit the jetty.

Andrews says this accident is one for the record books. "Police say the same thing: They don't get these calls too often."

The two people on the boat were taken to the hospital with head injuries that are non life-threatening.

The investigation continues.
