Virus outbreak: Pet adoptions halted in PBC

PALM BEACH COUNTY, FL (WFLX) - Pet lovers may have to wait until next week to adopt an animal. All cat and dog adoptions now halted at a Palm Beach County shelter because of a virus outbreak.

Last week, several dogs at Palm Beach County Animal Care and Control tested positive for canine respiratory coronavirus, the upper respiratory infection is similar to kennel cough.

As a precaution, no dogs or cats will be adopted out until November 2. Vets also recommend you keep your pet up-to-date on all vaccinations to make sure they don't get sick.
