JACKSON, MS (WLBT) - A suspected bank robber was arrested by Jackson police after using a taxi for his getaway vehicle.
The holdup happened Wednesday afternoon at the Trustmark Bank branch on 3311 Terry Road near Leavell Woods Drive in south Jackson.
Police said no weapon was displayed when the thief demanded money from the teller.
He left with an undisclosed amount of cash and took off in a cab that had taken him to a grocery store before the bank job.
"At this time, we don't know that the cab driver had any part to play in this robbery. I just think he thought he was transporting somebody to the bank," said JPD spokesman Officer Joseph Daughtry.
The suspect's name and picture are being withheld until he is questioned and identified in a lineup.
No customers were in the bank at the time, but seven employees were there. No one was injured.
