LAKE WORTH, FL (WFLX) - The Solid Waste Authority of Palm Beach County is looking to fill 200 jobs during a sub-contractor open house Saturday at the main campus of Palm Beach Community College in Lake Worth from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
The SWA needs to hire people to refurbish a renewable energy plant. Plant workers, along with the Palm Beach County Workforce Alliance, will accept applications for non-permanent positions ranging from trade steal and construction jobs -- boilermakers, electricians, ironworkers, riggers, support craft workers -- to clerical positions.
Employment will begin in February, with major hiring taking place in April of 2010.
Applicants interested in working on the project will be applying to, and if hired, will work directly for BE&K or an affiliated sub-contractors hired by BE&K. Sub-contractors may register, define their areas of expertise and capabilities, and begin the process to become an approved subcontractor for the project.
