Police hot on the trail for Paul Merhige

JUPITER, FL (WFLX) - The stats are impressive: More than 12 agencies and more than 200 people are all looking for Paul Michel Merhige.

More than 100 tips have been followed up on, and Jupiter's Police chief is asking that those calls keep coming in. "I'm confident there is gong to be that one; there is going to be the one that's going to tie all of these things together."

No matter how small you think the information might be, investigators want to hear from you.

The case is nearly two weeks old, and they don't want to hit a dead end. They will do whatever it takes to help the families of the victims. "We would love to be able to help give them some closure in this. People are working very hard to get that for them."

The chief says the investigation has changed. They are now being much more proactive. He can't be more specific with the game plan, but his confidence is growing. "I can't but help think that when I have all of these folks around helping us out there we are going to be successful -- maybe today maybe tomorrow -- eventually we are going to get him."

Investigators are prepared for anything. They do have a long term plan if the manhunt continues.

Next week, Fox's Americas Most Wanted will be in town shooting an in-depth piece to help get even more tips.
