MIAMI (WFLX) - A grandmother has been arrested in connection to the death of a 3-month-old baby who was found inside a hot car in Miami.

Update, FRI 11:45 AM: According to an arrest affidavit, the 3-month-old girl was unresponsive when Miami police and fire authorities responded to the car Thursday afternoon. Readings conducted at the scene showed that temperatures inside the vehicle reached more than 100 degrees.

Authorities say the baby's grandmother, Miriam Oliveras, left the child in the vehicle at around 8:30 a.m. until about 12:40 p.m. The baby was pronounced dead on the scene.

Oliveras has been charged with aggravated manslaughter of a child.

Court records do not indicate if she has obtained an attorney.
