PALM BEACH COUNTY, FL (WFLX) - Holiday tipping: It's customary, traditional and nice, but during these tough times money is tight.

Etiquette expert, Jacqueline Whitmore, says people are still giving an extra tip during this holiday season to their beautician, postman, lawn care provider or other special people, but it's just a little less than in years past.

Her advice: Still tip, but get creative -- give a gift-card or a baked good. A little bit goes a long way.

Holiday shopper, Patricia Erdmann, says, "For the people that serve us and do such an outstanding job, it's worth while to. Even though, it's only a few dollars, it means a lot." Julio Rios says, "In our area, we are very happy with out postal and sanitation, so it's way of saying thanks a lot and have a good Christmas."

So, how much should you give? Our etiquette expert says there is no set amount. If you receive a gift, it is nice to send a Thank-You card. Also, don't forget, postmen and women can't receive anything over $20.00.
