BOCA RATON, FL (WFLX) - She was trapped in the rubble in Haiti for five days and 12 hours, until a stranger from South Florida saved her.

Mirelle Dittmer was at a supermarket the day of the earthquake. She was trapped in the praying position for days, until she heard a name: 'Ben'. A person she didn't know, but she started yelling the name.

He heard her and saved her. Coincidently, he is from South Florida, from her own home town.

Mirelle is recovering at Boca Raton Community Hospital with minor scrapes and bruises. She is from Pembroke Pines, but lives in Haiti.

Her two sons, who attend college her, are thankful she is alive.

"After five days of waiting, our prayers were answered, and it was wonderful," her son, Ricky Dittmer, said.

"There is nothing I could do," Mirelle Dittmer said. "I am trapped. Rubble here on one side. I was trying to look what is going around, I could not."

Right now, Mirelle has not decided yet if or when she will move back to Haiti.
