Obama Gets Slightly Above Average Marks

President Obama has been in office exactly one year now.  Political experts we've talked with are not giving him any glowing praise for his first year in office.

A group called PolitiFact has come up with a scorecard for Obama's first year as president.

They say of the more than 500 promises Obama made during the campaign, he's only kept about 90 of them in his first year, has compromised on 33 promises, and has broken 15.  Nearly 300 promises are "in the works" the group concluded.

One south Florida political science expert gives Obama a B-minus.

"I mean he's certainly tried to push a lot of different issues. Um, he hasn't succeeded quite where he wanted to be, I believe," said Kevin Wagner, assistant professor of political science at Florida Atlantic University in Boca Raton.

Wagner says things probably won't get much easier for Obama in the months ahead, because he faces plenty of opposition from Republicans in Congress and he'll need their help to get things done.
