Municipal Election Day for Palm Beach County

PALM BEACH COUNTY, FL (WFLX) - Sixteen cities and towns in Palm Beach County are holding elections Tuesday. You have until 7 p.m. to cast your ballot.

According to the Palm Beach County supervisor of elections, typically, the turnout is anywhere from about 15-20 percent for municipal elections.

Officials are hoping they'll see a higher number because this is one of the first times that most of the cities are holding their elections on the same date. Also, there are quite a few candidates running in several different elections.

"In a couple of the cities, we see a large number of candidates. which is kind of gratifying. That kind of shows, hopefully, that people are much more concerned and willing to get involved," said PBC Election Supervisor Susan Bucher.

Boynton Beach has seven mayoral candidates; Jupiter has four.
