New permanent water restrictions implemented

Posted by Rachel Leigh - email

(WFLX) - New water restrictions for our area start Monday, and are permanent instead of temporary.

In Palm Beach County, Martin and St. Lucie Counties, you will be able to water your lawn three days a week. In Okeechobee County, you can only irrigate two days a week. Exceptions are made for new landscaping.

The South Florida Water Management District says three days a week is more than enough to keep lawns green and native plants growing.

There is still an emergency water shortage order in place for Lake Worth where lawn watering is only allowed one day a week.
