San Francisco, California-AP -- In the not-so-distant future, H-D T-V will be the rule not the exception.
Dolby Digital spokesman Ron Vitale predicts by 2006 all new televisions will be sold with high-definition tuners installed.
Vitale says presently consumers can receive high-definition broadcasts by acquiring and hooking-up a special box from their service providers.
But he says by 2006 all new televisions will have the high-definition picture and dolby digital sound built-in.
And Vitale says the cost won't be as high as H-D-T-Vs are today.
He says when they become the standard, their cost will be comparable to what a television costs today.
