(WFLX) - Healthcare reform has democrats celebrating for more than one reason. Conservative talk show host Rush Limbaugh said on his radio program he would go to Costa Rica if the legislation passed.
Well, now there is a Web site to help Rush move. The Web site is actually taking donations to help Rush Limbaugh leave his Palm Beach compound and go to Costa Rica.
This all started when, on his radio show, the conservative talk show host said to a caller asking what he would do if the healthcare reform passed Congress. "I'll just tell you this. If this passes, and it's five years from now, and all that stuff gets implemented -- I am leaving the country. I'll go to Costa Rica."
But here's the deal, Limbaugh left a lot of wiggle room for himself. It's unclear if he meant he would just go to Costa Rica for healthcare or to move there permanently.
Never the less, a Web site to raise donations to send him to Costa Rica has been started by two uninsured men living in Brooklyn. In just one day, they've raised enough money to buy a first class ticket for Rush to fly to Costa Rica.
Now, they're raising money for a modest apartment, moving service and even Spanish lessons for Rush.
The fundraiser will end in April. If Rush turns down the money, then it will be donated in his name to Planned Parenthood.
Rush said he was just joking about Costa Rica. The country has a universal healthcare system after all.
