WPB fire rescue save baby from hot car

WEST PALM BEACH, FL (WFLX) - Steven Ezumba was arrested Tuesday for leaving his 7-month-old son locked in is car while he was inside the post office located at 3200 Summit Blvd in West Palm Beach.

A woman who was in the parking lot heard the baby cry, and waited a few minutes to see if anyone returned to the car from the post office. After several minutes, she called 911. The baby had been in the car for at least 15 minutes.

When authorities arrived, they found only one of the windows of the car was open by about three inches, and the car was not sheltered by trees or other items.

Fire rescue units were able to remove the infant who had a temperature and was in distress. The baby was treated at the scene and then transported to Palms West Hospital.

Ezumba claimed he had been at the post office for two hours and had continuously checked on the baby.
