7-month-old left in car alone

WEST PALM BEACH, FL (WFLX) - It's happened again. For the second time, in less than a week, a child is left unattended inside a parked car with no air-conditioning.

The Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office arrested 22-year-old Seven Ezumba and charged him with child abuse after they say he left his 7-month-old son sitting in the car Tuesday.

Witnesses heard the baby crying and then called 911 after no one came to the car.

When Fire-rescue arrived they found the baby with an elevated temperature and in obvious distress. Temperatures reached the mid 70's and it was sunny.

Ezumba was there for 2 hours although he says he only left the child unattended for 20 minutes.

He appeared in court Wednesday and his bond was set at $1,000. He won't be allowed to see his child without permission from the Department of Children and Families.

On Saturday, a 9-month-old was left in a car outside and adult book store when temperatures where in the 80's.
