Long after a killer died, fight over his millions continues

New developments in a shocking murder case that made headlines in West Palm Beach several years ago.

Fredchen Keller was only 8 years old when his mother was gunned down by his dad, millionaire real estate mogul Fred Keller in November 2003.

Keller got a life sentence for murder and eventually died in prison.

Now an attorney in the case says some of the lawyers have raked in millions of dollars in fees, but the boy -- who is entitled to a $30 million dollar settlement reached two years ago --has yet to get anything.

"He hasn't received a dime. But lawyers have received millions and millions of dollars. There is something wrong with that in my opinion," said lawyer Theodore Babbitt.

"Why is it that the $30 million that was agreed to be paid to this boy, none of it has been paid to him.  Yet there's enough money to pay millions and millions of dollars to lawyers?"  Babbitt said.  "I am confident, knowing this judge, that's he's gonna do something about it."

Babbitt says he wants a judge to look into this, to ask each lawyer how much they've been paid, and to decide whether their fees were excessive.

He is trying to get a hearing in court in front of Circuit Judge Jack Cook.

One of the attorneys told us today that he disputes Babbitt's allegations, and feels Babbitt is "misinformed."
