LAKE WORTH, FL (WFLX) - Saturday night Daivd H. Davidson, a local realtor, jumped over the side of a boat on which a birthday party was being held. He never surfaced.
A search for Davidson began Saturday evening and resumed early Sunday morning. Then, shortly after 11 a.m., FWC recovered Davidson's body on the west side of the Intracoastal about a mile North of the Lake Worth Bridge.
A father to one of the boys on board said that his, "Son texted me that we had a problem. So we got him on the phone and he said David jumped into the water and never came up. My 13-year-old boy and some of his friends were the boat".
It is possible that one of the boys was Davidson's own son 13-year-old Cole.
Search and rescue teams working in the Intracoastal said there was no initial trace of the man in the water. But one thing is certain: a life preserver would've changed the entire situation. Had Davidson been wearing one searchers could've found him faster because he would've stayed above water instead of going under. It could've saved his life.
Davidson is described as being a, "stand-up guy and great father".
The body was transported to the ME's office for an autopsy to determine the cause of death.
At this time, it's unclear if alcohol was involved. The FWC continues to investigate.
