RIVIERA BEACH, FL (WFLX) - Riviera Beach police make an arrest in the brutal murder of a beloved teacher.

Calvin Williams was a middle school teacher at L.C. Swain Middle School for three years, but on May 14, he was found shot to death at his house on Silverbeach Road in Riviera Beach.

Tuesday night, 20-year-old Lawrence Hunt was booked at the Palm Beach County jail charged with second degree murder.

Police have reported that the night before Williams' murder, he was playing a card game at his house. The 41-year-old teacher was an avid card player and was hosting a game night at his place. Police are investigating to see if that had anything to do with his murder.

Rivera Beach Mayor Thomas Master said over the weekend, "Rivera Beach always gets their man, and we're not gonna rest until the guilty one or ones are caught, and justice is swift."

Calvin Williams was laid to rest over the weekend. Friends say he was a good guy and was respected at school.

We will continue to follow this breaking story and bring you any developments as they become available.
