JUPITER, FL (WFLX) - A Jupiter woman, who is 8 months pregnant, was shocked when a lightning bolt struck a few feet away from her.

Paramedics rushed 19-year-old Sarah Brodgon  to the hospital after, she says, she was shocked by lightning at a friend's house in Jupiter about 4:45 Tuesday afternoon.

Sarah says she and her friend were putting clothes in a car in her friend's driveway. "We were putting trash bags full of clothes in the car, and she was in front of me. She opened her car door and was loading something up. Then, all of a sudden, just this big boom and crash came. And she looked at me, she's like, 'Did you see that? That was close!' I was like, 'No, I felt it.' She said, 'It was pretty much from my feet to my fingertips'. But my feet was the worst. Pretty much after that I just went and sat down 'cause I didn't feel good."

Sarah says doctors at Jupiter Medical Center gave her and her unborn baby girl a check-up Tuesday night, and, they believe, she and the child are fine.
