Blood drive held in honor of injured PBSO officer

PALM BEACH GARDENS, FL (WFLX) - On Saturday, June 12, 2010, Deputy Sheriff Cheryl Griffin was involved in a boating accident, north of Donald Ross Bridge, in Palm Beach Gardens.

She is now in a coma at St. Mary's Hospital recovering after her arm was amputated.

The Sheriff's Office has organized a three-day blood driver in her honor at the Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office, located at 3228 Gun Club Road, in West Palm Beach.

Anyone interested in giving blood can show up from 9 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. Tuesday and 7:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. Wednesday. Thursday, people can give blood at Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office District 6, which is located at 7894 Jog Raod in Boynton Beach from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Thursday.
